In my bios across social media, I state that I live with essential tremor (or on the shorter bios, just have #essentialtremor), but I don't think many people really know what that is, or what it looks like. Tremors come in many shapes and forms, including Parkinson's, but the type I have affects my hands and arms - and in extreme stress, my head and voice. Katharine Hepburn had essential tremor, though almost all reports mislabeled it Parkinson's.
I've been sick with bronchitis the past two weeks, and as always, medications mess with my tremors. Even ones that are for tremors!! I had hoped to go into work today, not only to give the poor man who is covering my days a break, but because bills don't stop for illness. ;)
Instead, this is how my day is going, and will until my meds are gone in another week or two. And there's no guarantee that they will calm back down after the meds are gone, either. Last time it took months.
On the cool side, when I send someone energy (and especially in person), sometimes it feels like an internal energetic massage, and from what I hear, feels really good!
So as I'm waiting for things to get better, I've plenty of time to send healing light, so please, feel free to ask for a session and I'll get in touch with you asap! Remember, they're only $1.00 a minute!!
I can't use my cell phone when my hands are like this, so I'll check my email on the desktop as the day goes on. :) Thank you in advance for allowing me to be of service! You've made my day!!

This question, oh, it's a tough one.
Why, you ask. Well, because it's specific to each and every person. Overwhelmingly, the feeling most mention is peace; sometimes in a wave, sometimes later, but almost always peace. As one client said, "I feel light-hearted and calm. I felt the light she sent and in an instant was overwhelmed with a joy (not to mention the tingles)."
As for the basics, I'm often asked, "What do I need to do?", and the answer is, "Whatever you would like!" There's no specific way to receive healing light, and you can go on with your normal day, you can do yoga, you can nap, get a massage, watch tv...it's up to you. I do mention that it's possible that you may fall asleep (it seems to happen when there is a lot of stress, exhaustion, or pain involved), so you can schedule your session with that in mind. During one particularly deep hour-long session, a client once fell asleep for 12 hours (see the Dare session mentioned below)!
You don't need to wear anything in particular, don't need to remove your jewelry, don't need to be somewhere quiet; all you need to do is be willing to receive.
A session is not done by phone, Skype, or email, either. You purchase a session, I receive an email confirmation, and then we exchange a few emails wherein I ask what the session is for, if there's a particular ailment or part of the body you want the light focused on, we set up a time, and off we go!
Before the session, I will email that I'm about to start, and will do the same once I've completed the work. I tend to say something like, "Let me know if it helps!" or, "I hope it helps", because the way the healing manifests within you may be completely different from what you expected. For instance, one in-person client was having a bit of back pain and as I worked on her, she stated that it felt like, "little dwarves working on my back, then light jumped from my back, over my head and straight to my heart chakra". The light knows where it needs to go and what needs to be done. Oh, and yes, her back felt better, too. :)
I have found, as I've mentioned before, that clients may not always associate later shifts and healing with a session, and I admit, sometimes I want to say, "Hey! Remember the work we did??", but that's my ego talking, and it really needs to learn to chill. ;)
Of all the clients I've helped, only two had unpleasant memories rise to the surface after a particularly deep session whose purpose was to specifically unblock the energies in the lower 5 chakras. That session is no longer on the services page (not due to their responses), but if you really want to unblock a lot of stuff and stir up the mud to see what rises to the surface so you can face it, deal with it, and let it go, I'm open to doing so. Send me an email and let me know you want the Dare Session, and we'll set it up!
Hopefully this post gives you a little insight into what goes on during a session, and if you have any questions, again, shoot me an email! I'm more than happy to answer questions!
One last thing: I am not a medical intuitive. This means that no, I can not tell you what is causing this or that pain, nor will not be able to sense anything going on in your body: I am a conduit and the gift I have does not include that ability. The light flows through me and into you; I can tell where there are a lot of stuck emotions and/or pain by the way my hands feel, and occasionally, very occasionally, I may see something in my environment that seems to be a little sign meant for you, and I will let you know what I saw and what it seemed to mean to me. Beyond that, no, I cannot tell you more.

In the never-ending quest to find the perfect way to get my message across, find the right social media to make that happen, and sheer giddiness that always happens when I sending healing light...
...yesterday I tweeted,
"I honestly don't know what to say anymore about the work I do. I help you heal. You'll feel better. I can do it from afar. The end. :)"
To which, my friend Donna Watkins retweeted it with this comment:
My friend. She does. You will. She can. The end.
It's still cracking me up.
How is your Friday treating you? I just spent the morning sending light, and then gave a back massage, and there's more light to be sent in a bit. This time across the pond again!
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. ;)

A few years ago I read Judith Orloff's book, Second Sight, and I recently borrowed it from the library again. This is one of those books that, when I start doubting myself, brings me right back to knowing that I'm doing what I do exactly the way that it is supposed to be done. That I need to remember to trust the universe, and let it lead the way.
She mentions a healer named Jack, "I never saw Jack reverse cancer or perform any such miraculous cures, but his patients did improve. Naively, I had hoped he could relieve them of all their symptoms, but I soon discovered that healing didn't work that way. What Jack gave his patients was a second wind, a jump-start of powerful energy."
I know that my work isn't of the miraculous sort, and yet I also know that it definitely makes a difference in the client's life.
She then later mentions a woman named Rosalyn, "She'd been treating me for stomach problems the past few months." (italics mine) "My physical symptoms markedly improved during these treatments. Not only did Rosalyn rid me of the annoying tight knot in the pit of my stomach, but her sessions left me with a sense of extreme well-being that would last for hours."
That passage reminds me that while most clients request a single session, some issues are not as simple as a headache or a quick release of stuck emotions, and may take more than one treatment. And that I need to step up and let those particular potential clients know this and not be afraid to sound pushy doing so. I have to trust my instincts and stop keeping myself small when it is in the client's best interest for me to stand tall in my inner knowing.
When Orloff began doing energy healing herself, she noted, "I simply sat on the couch, hands steady on her body, allowing myself to be a vehicle through which love could flow. To be successful, healing requires a transparency, a passive receptivity, rather than any purposeful effort."
I find that if I let my ego get in the way, wondering "if, if, if", as I'm doing a session, then the flow of light and love is lessened, whereas when I let my mind wander to the show I'm watching or the birds around the feeder, even the clouds floating across the sky, then Spirit has an uninterrupted conduit through me and can do the work that needs to be done. The love flows to where it needs to be, and in the amount the client's soul is ready for.
As a practitioner of a not-always-obvious way of helping people, it's easy to get lost in the worries of "am I good enough, am I doing enough, did I help them, will they notice...and on and on." Rereading this book reminds me that none of this is about me, and that the universe chose me to do this work, and the universe knows what it's doing.
I really need to just buy this book. ;)

Recently I answered a Twitter request for help from Lisa, aka Amethyst Lane, and to be quite honest, I misunderstood the request and sent directly to her. :) Afterwards, she said she would let me know later how the energy felt to her, and this is what she said:
"I am very guarded in general so asking for communal help to assist in my healing work is rare. Several answered the call and I appreciate all. Yours was very distinct and I am not sure it reflects your personality because we've never met but I *knew* it was from you. Your energy was patient and unobtrusive. It waited for me to be ready to receive it (apparently recognizing my guardedness). It was gentle and when I opened myself to it, it enveloped me like a gentle breeze building in power and lingering until I could drop my guards, breathe naturally, and rest. In other words, "it was exactly what I needed". Thank you so much."
I cried. :)
Curious to see what the healing energy I channel feels like for you? Check out the pages about Emotional, Physical, and General Healing, then choose a session, and we'll set up a time!

I've always said that I want to help everyone feel better, and I've always meant it. I still do. But finding a niche to focus on is what all the marketing experts swear by, so thanks to my friend Lady Althaea and her tip to sign up for a free 5-day ecourse called #5toThrive by Fiona, I've found mine!
It comes down to this: I gently and energetically shift negative emotions, to help women move forward and open their lives to new possibilities. Isn't that wonderful?! When I wrote that in my notebook, everything just fell into place. :)
Now, this doesn't in any way mean that I will not continue to help with more than emotional shifts, nor does it mean I will only work with women from here on out; no! Everyone (animals, too!) and every issue will still be in my wheelhouse, I just found that this was the issue the vast majority of my work has been concerning.
I'm so excited!

I always tell people that a healing session may not be immediately felt, that sometimes it unfolds over time as with Amanda Donnelly's session*. Healing that is working on a deeper level than a hurt hand, for instance, takes time, and I know that clients don't always connect the session with the changes unless they are consciously keeping track.
I like to check in with people soon after a session, but even though I know the shifts can take time, it feels a bit pushy to do so a few weeks or months later. Every time I send healing light, your health and happiness are my goal, and I admit it, sometimes I look back through my schedule, wondering if this person or that person had the changes they were hoping for. :)
If we've worked together this year and you've felt better as time has gone on, think back...when did that change begin? Have there been subtle changes that you didn't notice until they became part of a larger "Dang, I'm feeling so much better lately!" awareness? You may be surprised to connect-the-dots and realize that it is connected to the session, especially if your initial reaction to the session was a bit of a "Meh". Those are the ones that seem to be doing the most inner work that takes time.
I'd love to hear from you if this is the case!

PS: I can easily accommodate the schedules of anyone around the world, don't forget! I'm on MST (or UTC/GMT -7), and have no problem waking in the middle of the night for a session. Also, receiving light while sleeping can be highly beneficial, too, as our bodies heal during that time. My schedule is your schedule, so let's work together!
PPS: I mention Amanda's post frequently, as it such a clear example of how healing works, and also because no one else has written about a session a long while after the fact. I'll try not to do it so often after this! :)
...and your mind is completely blank.
You wonder what more you could say about energy healing that you haven't already, but nothing comes to mind. You've explained distance healing, the type of healer you are, why no one deserves healing more than someone else, if healing is guaranteed...you've pretty much covered all the bases, especially since you are explaining something that is, in many ways, beyond explanation.
All you really want to say, over and over, is that all you want to do with your life is help people (and animals) around the world feel better. It's really that simple. It's not about being famous, it's not about being on-call for celebrities, it's not about making a fortune; it's about using this amazing gift you've been blessed with to bring some measure of peace to someone else's suffering. And hopefully making a living doing so.
Then you realize that you have said it all. And you know that's all you can do; the rest is up to those who read about you. So you wait, sometimes impatiently because the desire to help is so strong, and sometimes you go nuts while wandering the Cortex (that's the internet, for those of you who aren't Firefly fans) because so many people mention headaches and allergies and this hurt and that pain and heartache and grief, and you know that you can't keep offering to help because pro bono doesn't pay the rent. You have to wait for them to come to you.
So you wait. Hands tingling with anticipation. Hoping.
And you still have no idea what to write for your blog post.

Last year, my friend Ronda Snow surprised me with a gorgeous wooden mala she'd made, and a copy of Serene Beads: Meditation Made Easy. Meditation has never been easy for me (my mind just goes and goes!), but using the mala gives me focus for a while and has helped.
Recently I received a package in the mail, and there was another set of meditation beads! It's beautiful, with small black beads, and she wrote in the accompanying card, "This mala is called Shaman, and it wants to be with an energy healer like you. Cooling, yin, and soothing, it wants to bring you calm and restfulness, especially in times of anxiety or tremor." Isn't that lovely?
The wooden mala has the traditional Buddhist 108 beads, I've not counted the Shaman's beads, and the smaller rosewood bracelet mala has 27 (go round 4 times and you have 108). Now I really have NO excuse not to meditate. ;)
Check out Ronda's Etsy shop: it has the very Potter-ish name, Quirk and Flotsam. She also offers tarot readings on her website, Modern Oracle Tarot.

As I mentioned last week, people sometimes respond to the offer of healing light with, "Save it for someone who needs it more", and today I cover what I see as the second implication contained in that comment.
It seems that there is a belief that healing light/energy is a finite commodity, and as such, can be depleted. Not so! I'll be honest: I don't actually know where it comes from or how it flows through me to you (though I do use the word "Spirit" in that context), but I do believe that the universe IS energy. And by not using it to help others, we are leaving a huge potential for healing left untapped.
As far as I'm aware, the energy is infinite, and I do know that Spirit knows exactly who I am sending light to, even if all I have to go on is a screen name.
So please, allow the healing energy to help you! You deserve health, and you are not taking away from someone else; there is more than enough to go around!
