The world certainly feels like it's going to hell in a handbasket, and anymore, it's hard to tell who exactly is carrying the basket. Everyone blames everyone else, and it seems we never get any closer to finding a solution.
Emotions have been high, oh so high, these past few days, and depending on who you talk to or interact with, they run the gamut from hatred to wanting to curl up and hide in a cave. I personally had a moment where I just wanted the world to stop turning so I could step off and find a nice quiet planet on which to hide.
There are many who say that prayers don't make a difference, and I'm going to leave that opinion to your personal feelings on that. For me, though, all lightworkers are working with Divine energy (the Divine, again, being something of your choice, whether a god, goddess, or simply the fact that everything is made up of energy), and when I work with it, it is a sort of prayer for the healing of the person I'm working with.
After the gut reactions of crying and raging and, truth be told, adding to the growing negative energies surrounding the planet, the way I eventually deal with these horrific events is to do what I do best; send light. Sometimes it's to particular individuals, sometimes more. Today, oh, today I'm going big. I'm going to use this amazing dumortierite globe that a friend gave me, have it stand in for the entire planet, and send light, so much light. My "prayer" as I do so will be that everyone lays down their arms, and that we find the courage and the strength to embrace one another and work towards the common goal of peace and safety and compassion for all.
It would be wonderful if this could be a concerted effort between as many lightworkers/witches/pagans/you name it: if you can help, help! The world is changing, this is obvious, but does that mean it has to be in such a painful, destructive manner? Change can occur peacefully if people work together.
Let's work together to do just that, shall we?
